“To be able to bring a definite end to poverty in Africa we must address the persistent and growing poverty experienced by women and girls and tackle structural causes of gender inequality that perpetuate its cycle”
How You Can Help
We would like to follow in the footsteps of organizations such as ASHA for Education, a volunteer-run, and secular, non-profit that has supported over 900 projects for underprivileged children in India for 23 years. Their goal is to make sure all children have access to education, health care and good nutrition.
The American Refugee Committee, launched in 1979 to aid refugees on the Thai-Cambodian border, responds to refugee needs worldwide including Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, and Syria. It provides emergency housing, health care (including immunization, sanitation, clean water, and reproductive care), education, legal services and counseling.
Donate and Become a Sponsor
Given the prospect of starvation and possible genocide in Nigeria, ACO is spearheading its first campaign as an organization to help support the efforts of the ARC through its sponsorship process. ACO will donate 10 percent of all the sponsorship money it receives to the ARC to be earmarked for Nigerian children dangerously close to starvation.
Becoming a sponsor is a simple process. Just click sponsors at the top on the right side of our home page. Complete the application form and you will be posted as a contributor regardless of whether you are a business or a caring individual (we have over 6,000 international viewers). Have your friends on Facebook partner with you in sponsorship. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in sponsorship monies by the first of the New Year. We will post our contribution to the AFC by January 10th.
